The main objects of my research are crystalline and nano modifications of elemental boron, boron-containing compounds and composites with a cluster structure, which determines their unique properties and diverse technological applications. I became interested in these objects at the very beginning of my scientific career – during my post-graduate studies. The Ferdinand Tavadze Metallurgy and Materials Science Institute was a leading organization in the field of boron in the former Soviet Union. And my scientific supervisor Acad. Guri Tsagareishvili led the Laboratory of Boron, Its Alloys and Compounds in the said institute.
I study these objects not only experimentally, but also theoretically, using the quasi-classical method of calculating the structural parameters and electronic energy spectrum of the substance developed by me. In this approach, the calculation error of length and energy dimension parameters does not exceed a few percent, which is quite acceptable in materials science.
An additional field of my scientific interests is mathematics. I have published works on the problem of analytical calculation of volume integrals in geometry and the theory of high-order algebraic equations. Among them is the international academic publishing house Palmarium Acad. Publ. monograph and articles published by Mathematical Notes, a high-impact international journal of this field.
In total, I am the Author of more than 400 works. My scientific productivity is assessed by the Hirsch index as follows: Scopus h=10 and Google Scholar h=17. According to Research Gate, an international database of scientific publications, the assessment of interest in my research exceeds that of 90 % of Research Gate members.
I was born and raised in the family of a Historian. This circumstance determined my hobby – history.
