Dr. Mariam Tabatadze – PhD in Geography. From 2004, she works at the Institute of Hydrometeorology of Georgian Technical University, in the department of environmental pollution monitoring and prognosis as a senior scientist. Her scientific work is related with ecochemical researches of natural objects, furthermore she has experience in the field of hazardous waste management.

Dr. M. Tabatadze has experience in the field of environmental protection and chemical, biological, radiation, nuclear security, moreover project elaboration and implementation field. In particular, in 2012-2014 she was the principal investigator of two projects financed by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia and key personnel of other scientific project in 2015-2017 years. She took part in one year research project conducted by the Open Society Georgia Foundation with the subject ,,Ecological Research of the river Lukhuni Gorge (Upper Racha)“, in which the amounts of arsenic and other numerous substances were defined in the natural objects.

From 2013 to present, Dr. M. Tabatadze is involved in the process of elaboration and development of the National Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear Security Strategy (CBRN) and its Action Plan. She was a committee member of the international CBRN Science and Consequence Management World Congress in 2014-2016. She has been granted professional experience from the different courses regarding the Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear issues in various countries (Georgia, Germany, Italy, Croatia, Sweden, USA, etc.). She has undergone a one-year course on planning, programming and budgeting systems within the Norway-funded project. Moreover, she is the author of two books (monographs) and 30 scientific articles published in local and international scientific magazines. She is permanently improving her experience and knowledge with participation in the international scientific conferences, workshops and symposia.
